A native of Bainbridge, Georgia she was a Dayton resident for many years. She was a member of Greater Allen AME Church and a retired employee of the Good Samaritan Hospital after 32 years of service. Preceded in death by her mother, Eula Glen, sisters, Adell Mims and Eloise Combs, brothers, Roscell Johnson and Lankford Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William Frederick Harshaw; two children, Miguel Harshaw and Oletha Johnson (Albert four grandchildren, Aimee Johnson, Master Sergeant Anthony Johnson (Marsha), Keeyana McDonald, Miguel Patrick and five great-grandchildren, Ajae Johnson, Khali Patrick, Nicole Johnson, Tamia Johnson and Zari Ingram.

LAVEEN, Lawrence M. 73, Wapakoneta, formerly Sidney, died Nov. 2, 2011. Service 10:30 AM, Only Believe Ministries, Botkins. (Cromes Funeral Home) LLOYD, Viola Riffe Viola Riffe Lloyd, made a peaceful transition on October 28, 2011.

She was born on August 4, 1913 to Joseph Cal and Edna Crawford Riffle in Dayton, Ohio and received Christ at an early age at Norwood Avenue Christian Church. Her death was preceded by her husband, Curtis, her parents, Joseph and Edna Riffe, her sister, Jessie Riffe Dixon, her brother, Joel C. Riffe, and her nephews Jeff and Craig Love. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Linda, her loving nephews, Albert R. Dixon (Joyce) and Albert III of San Francisco, her loving niece, Gloria Gates, a very favorite Michael S.

Love, a special niece, Mary Gates Stevens, three devoted cousins, Mary A. Riffe, Ruby Kavanaugh, Charles McGill, and a special friend, Ruth Mack. Mrs. Lloyd graduated from Roosevelt High School, where she wrote and performed the class song at the 1932 ceremony. Her education continued at Wilberforce University where she received her degree in 1936 and become a lifelong member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Her entire teaching career was served at Garfield School in Dayton, Ohio. After receiving her Masters of Educational Administration at Miami University (Ohio) in the Viola Lloyd was appointed as the principal of the newly constructed 1957 Louise Troy School in Dayton, Ohio and had an exemplary twenty year reign. She was the second Afri- cian-American woman principal in the district and the first to hold that position with an integrated staff. Mrs. Lloyd was an inspirational mentor and a role model to generations.

A service commemorating the life of Viola Lloyd will be held in the near future. Her interment service will be private. Many thanks for the tremendous support from Pastor Glenn and the members of Wayman Chapel Church, the members of Summit Christian Church, her former students and staff, the Mary Scott Nursing Center staff, and all of her dedicated caretakers, friends, relatives and neighbors. Frances was born December 2, 1918 in Ford County, Illinois a daughter of John S. and Sarah E. Kenney. She married Lawrence Martz April 22, 1939. He preceded her in death November 9, l985.

She is survived by her brother, Lawrence W. "Wes" Kenney of Normal, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters and a special friend Maurice Winfield. Frances was educated in the Dayton schools and after graduation began a Long career at Delco Products Company, Division of General Motor Corp. After retirement she and her husband became involved in ballroom dancing and eventually dance instructors.

They were also in various dance competitions having won many trophies. The family is very grateful and would like to extend a very special thank you to, Shirley Glye, her caregiver, through out her illness always being at her side. Also to Frank and Doyla Perry, her special friends, for their many acts of kindness shown. Frances was a dear sister, aunt and friend. Her kind spirit touched many lives.

He was united in holy matrimony to Fannie B. Stockdale in 1957 and to this union three daughters were born.

He loved to learn and experience new things. David always thought that there was more to life than meets the eye and even founded The Prodigy Paranormal Group. Making a living as an IT Specialist, David was the go to guy for computers, math and anything else one might have a question with. People just gravitated towards him. David is survived by his loving mother Martha Mahan, his Aunt Donna Petry (Mahan), uncle Ron Petry, cousin Tori and her husband Joe Steinbrunner.

David also leaves behind his ever loving girlfriend of eight years, Alicia Rubin, close friends Mike Banta, Ed Dysart, his beloved cat Riley and a host of many other loving friends and family.
