What is the correct orientation of the projector in space engineers? ›

To place the projector right side up, remember: The front has two bars pointing at a circle.

Most projectors come equipped with a feature that allows you to do this. You can access the projector's menu, navigate to the advanced display settings, and choose the "flip" or "reverse" option. This will invert the downward projector image, restoring it to the correct orientation.

You place and power a projector. In the control panel for the projector, open blueprints, and copy the blueprint to the clipboard. The projector will automatically project the blueprint in front of it. Adjust settings in the projector to display how far in front/behind the projector, the blueprint model shows.

If the ghost previews of blocks often snap and then rotate themselves into an unexpected position, press (T key) to reset Auto Orientation Mode.

Projector And Screen Placement

As a starting point, look at the proposed room layout and draw a line perpendicular from the center of the screen to the opposite (i.e., rear) wall. Ideally, the projector will be located somewhere along this line.

Toggle First-person / Third-person view -- Press V. Zoom in third-person view -- Alt+Mouse wheel. Free Look -- Hold Alt and move the mouse.

Using Symmetry Mode in Space Engineers

Get a block ready to place on the spaceship. Enable symmetry mode with its default hotkey (default: N) to get to work. Hit the symmetry mode hotkey (default: M) several times to cycle through the axes. Keep pressing it until you get to the right axis you want to mirror.
